Without having a job while studying in Australia, it’s pretty easy to burn through money. My main advice for anyone studying abroad would be to figure out your priorities. It’s important to balance your life and ensure you are doing things that are productive as well as fun and enriching. After all, being abroad is the perfect opportunity to try new things. However, being cash conscious is important. My advice is to prioritize and consider finding employment whilst abroad (if your Visa allows it).
“I would definitely recommend looking into classes that require fieldtrips”
I snorkeled at Green Island and got a little glimpse of the reef, which was awesome. I would definitely recommend looking into classes that require fieldtrips for that reason, although you do have to pay for the trip, technically it’s a class requirement, which may make dishing out the cash a little easier.
Be prepared to make some sacrifices and take responsibility for why you may or may not be able to do something. Save a lot before you get on that plane and budget yourself to save for the most important activities, to you!
