Celine and her adventure to Paluma

Hey everybody!

Another week has passed by way too quickly…

This week I have been busy reading Jane Eyre for my literature class, finding out about convicts and settlers for Australian History, studying English grammar rules and learning about depth of field and exposure in Photography.

For the latter, I also borrowed a DSLR camera and a tripod at the School of Creative Arts. Everyone enrolled in a subject connected to Photography can borrow camera equipment from there. Just go to http://bookingpoint.jcu.edu.au/fmi/iwp/res/iwp_home.html to make an online booking.

Equipped with my camera, my friends and I went to the Paluma Range National Park, which is about 70 km’s north of Townsville.

The national park is gorgeous and definitely worth a visit! We first went to Big Crystal Creek for a swim.

We then continued our way to Little Crystal Creek for another swim. On our way, we passed a little shack where local fruit and vegetables were sold. We spent about an hour talking to the people selling these local products and were also shown around the fruit plantation. I was once more fascinated by the friendliness of Australians.

We saw very small bananas…. And very big jack fruits.

After our swim, we hiked through the rainforest…

… and to a fascinating lookout.

That’s it for this week.
